… trying on nearly every single item of clothing I own before hanging or folding it. Though I did this before packing the clothes having gained weight (with the pregnancy), changed shape (again, pregnancy), pants that fit before no longer fit, ditto with skirts. It also appears I can now wear some of the maternity clothes Rebecca and Laurie were kind enough to pass on, so I was rotating regular clothes out and maternity clothes in. I spent nearly seven hours readying the master bedroom, much of that time trying on and sorting clothes. I seem to recall that my sister would spend hours of her childhood trying on outfits one after another. This was never my thing. It still isn’t.
The bedroom is not done, but it has come a long way. I put a big dent in the kitchen yesterday and Kev made yet more progress today. It would be nice to have an office ready to go as class starts tomorrow, but as I type (on our big red couch- the comfy red chair is full of boxes at the moment) the office is to my right and is piled high with boxes. Ah well…
I have my first day of school outfit all picked out- two cute maternity hand me downs! And I have my two books for my French class ready to go. I am going to try taking notes on my laptop primarily, but I bought a notebook and two nice pens just in case I’m not ready for this step or I’m not allowed to use my laptop in class. Class starts at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. I just hope I sleep through the night tonight. I haven’t for the last several and I am WEARY. Kev managed to slip in a nap this afternoon, but not me. When I take on a task I can’t make myself stop until I’ve finished it or made substantive progress.
We finished listening to an audiobook we’ve been working on for awhile on our drive back from the boat this morning. It is a novel based on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the theologian on whom I’m taking a whole seminar this fall. I decided this was wise pleasure “reading” in preparation for the fall. I hope to blog about it soon.
But I hope to sleep sooner.
