- A Very Resourceful Brother Who Happens to Work for our Cell Phone Company- Without doing anything unethical, my brother negotiated a reduction of our minutes and a carryover of our rollover minutes, in a very short period of time. He was gracious with the person assisting him, and… got much more accomplished on our behalf than I ever could. This saves us a bit more money every month and every bit helps. Love it and love him! He was painting a wall in his new house (my little brother bought a house!) when he called to confirm these arrangements with me. I love the young man he has grown into!
- Random Conversations When I’m Out Walking in Our Neighborhood- Yesterday Caroline and I passed a guy on our walk from the bank to the hardware store and then home. He said “Howdy” and I replied with a smiley “Hi!” I kept walking. And he said something I couldn’t discern. It sounded like “I’m a sinner.” “You’re a sinner?” I asked. “No, s..th..er” “Excuse me?” He mumbles again. “I’m not sure what you’re saying, sir.” “I’m southern! It’s the south. It’s ‘howdy!'” I smiled, “Well, I’m a northerner and it’s ‘hi!’ Have a good day, sir!” He smiled back and urged us to be safe. This was less fascinating than the political conversation I got into with a guy in a jump suit awhile back, but in general, any time I walk, something interesting happens. And I love this.
- Things Going Well For People I Love- Kev likes his job and they like him. Cecilia is out of the closet and so far experiencing much grace. Little Mary has a good woman in her life. Jonathan is getting ready to go to Taiwan with his family. My sister Katherine has a great new job. My brother Dan, see above about the house- and the woman in his life, is also a very good thing. And my mom is driving again, her nice new car, after an accident that really shook her several months ago. And another friend is pregnant. I love it when good things come to people I love.
- A Much Slower Paced Week– I got the only school work I HAVE to do this week done by mid-morning this week. I was able to work on some other organizational projects I really want to get done. I theoretically can get some good reading done tomorrow. And I don’t have to worry about lying down with Caroline multiple times in a day if she’s fussy or playing with her, or walking with her, or whatever is needed! I love this slower week I’m having.
