- Finding The Sermon I Knew I MUST Have Written Once Upon a Time- It only took organizing 100 or so sermons before I found it… and I’m not sure how useful it will be… but it is on the Gospel text for the next Sunday I preach. I can’t believe I only preached this text once in six years of weekly preaching, but I preached it once… and that sermon will be mined for all it is worth! I LOVE that all the sermons I’ve managed to track down in my computer and on a disc from my office computer are now organized in Scrivener by text, and in some cases by liturgical season or special day. There’s more sub-organizing to do, but the BIG task is, at this late hour in which I should, like my husband and baby (at the moment) be sleeping) DONE. And I found the sermon that prompted the task a mere hours ago… several days into the project!!! The next time I wonder if I’ve preached on a text it will take MINUTES to find it. Love it!
- Scrivener- (Follow Link Above) I’ve been using this program since starting my Ph.D. program. I open a new project for every class or independent study project I undertake. It is such an easy program in which to manage big projects. I think it will be VERY helpful for a dissertation someday. For now, I practice with smaller things. I tried the sermon organizing another way first, and it was so tedious. This was VERY easy. Love it!
- Being Present With a Friend for a Very Sacred Moment– That’s all I can say. But I had such a privilege today. And I LOVED it.
