- Getting to the End of a Long Day- For three consecutive Tuesdays Kev, Caroline, and I are heading cross town to our friends’ home at 6 a.m. in order to spend the day with their baby who is a month plus older than Caroline. We stay with her until her grandma gets done with work and picks up her brother from “school”- 5:30ish. Last week was our first week of this. It was a fine day, but exhausting. Today, in many ways, was a better day. Fiona was more comfortable with us and relaxed and smiled and played more… she was a bit less clingy. But… I think I’m more exhausted now than last week. As soon as we eat our Tuesday night pizza and catch up on our Bible reading, I believe I will be crashing. I love getting to the end of this day.
- John Adams– Not necessarily the man, but the HBO miniseries. Our friends’ own the dvds (which is something we love) and we watched a few episodes today. Love it.
- Having Realistic Expectations- Last week I thought I’d get all sorts of studying done while babysitting. Nope. Didn’t happen. This week I brought stuff with, but didn’t expect to get any studying done. And I didn’t. And that’s o.k.. I did write a few thank you notes I’ve been meaning to write. We did take a good walk with the added weight of the girls in tow and we got some bills and those notes in the mail. We watched the above mentioned dvds and did some planning for the year to come together. And, of course, we provided lots of baby care. And that’s about what I expected. And thus though I am tired, I am not disappointed in myself at the end of this day. And I love that.
